Reeds Lake Run 2009
This morning was the Reeds Lake Run. Kevin did both the 5k and 10k events, while I focused on the sidewalk sprint. I’d positioned myself really close to the starting line, so the runners were still really tightly packed together when they went by. So much so that I almost missed Kevin! To make up [...]
Laughs & a Proposal at Dr. Grins
Last night was date night! We saw Steve Byrne at Dr. Grins Comedy Club. We’ve seen his Comedy Central special, and his live show was just as funny. At the end of the show, a guy who had been on stage as part of an audience participation skit actually proposed. She said “yes”!
Melting-er- Music in the Park
Hot, hot, hot! The end. Just kidding! There’s more. But, if you’re in a hurry, that’s a good summary of the second concert in the park of 2009. Whew. Tonight, we rocked out, well, more like chewed out, to the Karisa Wilson Band. Big Bob’s Pizzeria has a special going during the concert season: buy [...]
Reeds Lake Clothesline Art Festival
Today was the Reeds Lake Clothesline Art Festival. What a hot day for it! It seemed like the event had doubled in size, attendees, and temperature compared to last year’s! There were lots of interesting vendors. Quite a few massive, think wall-size, photo canvases that were totally awesome. The thing is, neither of us could [...]
Singing in the Rain!
For dinner tonight, we walked up to Graydon’s Crossing in Gaslight Village. We ate outside, which was exceedingly nice. The weather was summery, and the food was great. Now, we could have made it home in plenty of time before the deluge. But our waitress did a disappearing act. We waited and waited for the [...]
A Day on the Go & a Night on the Town
After poking around Eastown’s Bizarre Bazaar in the am, we took in the Local First Street Party downtown in the pm. They closed the street in front of Bitro Bella Vita to make room for a stage, plenty of local food vendors, and an impressive amount of people crammed into a rather small space! Besides [...]
Kicking Back, Putting Our Feet Up
Kevin got an early birthday present today! Here we are kicking back and enjoying the newest addition to our backyard- a nice, relaxing hammock.
Fly Me to the Moon
We just got back from the very first Concert in the Park of the summer! The East GR 2009 Summer Concert Series was kicked off by the Hall Street 6- a bit of a misnomer since there were 8 of them! Despite being a bit cold and not very summer-like, we had a good time. [...]
The Sunburst Marathon in South Bend
We just got back from Indiana. What were we doing there? It’s officially marathon season! Need I say more? We arrived Friday afternoon in time to stop by the College Football Hall of Fame to get Kevin and Kelly’s race packets, by the South Bend Chocolate Company to drool and get some Death-by-Chocolate waffle cones, [...]
